Week in Review: November 1-5

Brrrr! It's getting cold outside and we're walking into Daylight Savings Time this Saturday night. Anybody else feeling like Winter is Here? AND THEN THERE'S CHRISTMAS which is basically tomorrow! So much to prepare for but first let's start with recapping the week and setting you up for some juvenile defense success.

Tip of the Week

Another OJD CLE

Please join OJD on November 19, 2021 from 12:00PM to 1:15PM for Raise the Age Part II: Senate Bill 207.

This training will be a statutory review of the changes to Raise the Age presented in Senate Bill 207. This includes expanding jurisdiction on 16 and 17 year olds and discussing the minimum age changes in juvenile delinquency.

CLE Application is currently pending and CLE costs will be an attorney expense at this time.

The Homeless Youth Handbook

The Homeless Youth Handbook, a collaborative effort between Legal Aid, Baker McKenzie, and Bank of America is going to be released on Tuesday, November 9th. The handbook combines information in 19 different areas that impact children and youth and it is an invaluable compilation of information all in one place. It’s in a Q&A format designed to be accessible to youth as well. OJD's Eric Zogry contributed to this great collaborative effort!

Legal Aid, Baker McKenzie, and Bank of America will be hosting a virtual event and would love for our juvenile defense community to attending. If you would like to attend the virtual launch event, you can register by clicking here. To learn more about the Homeless Youth Handbook, click here.

That's all we have for today's Week in Review! Can't wait to see you all in today's School's In CLE!
